We Got New Hats! or Can You Tell How Much I Hate Posing With This Silly Hat?

Yep, Back by popular demand. Man got a new batch of Desert Dawg keep on truckin’ hats. So for all those of you that never got one and aren’t too mad about it man got a new batch so let him know and I’ll go with him to the Post Office and we’ll send you one or two. I love goin’ to the Post Office cause Katie’s silly dawgs bark like crazy when they see me crusin’ around all free cause they are stuck in the truck usually when Katie is workin’. And she gives me a cookie and there’s a great lawn there by the Freebox which is always a good place to sniff around too.

So, we spent a lot of time on the road which is kind of boring especially cause man sneaks little pink pills into the cheese he gives me before we head out so I don’t remember a lot about the trip except we get to good places to explore, and camp and generally sniff. Man’s gettin’ a bit better so we are hikin’ a little bits but nuthin like those epic record setters of yesteryear.  All good by me. I’m gettin’ pretty mellow like a fine wine or a good Scotch is what man says and he’s full of s__t or wisdom he likes to think. Yep, I’m content with the little things; morning cuddles, breakfast, a walk around the block, treat, stroll over to the coffee shop, get another treat, then maybe a snooze, then hopefully some lunch, then snooze, maybe a little walk and some treats and then dinner time! My favorite time of day, then if I’m lucky a bone, a couple more snoozes, repeat. Not too bad. I don’t really care about cows much anymore either, big stoopid beasts, but I like to eat beef. So yeah, just aging gracefully like a good stinky cheese. Me and my man, both slowing down. Don’t forget though to git hold of him if you want a hat. And some words of wisdom right here:

Fight everyday for the wild places. Bite those assholes that would take it away from us. But get out everyday too. Look up at the sky, howl at the moon, breathe deep and smell the sage, listen to the wind. Then go home and fight some more. We will bite them in their fat asses!                            -Desert Dawg over and out.

Dawg – Glad to hear you are getting out and about a bit more even if it requires little pink pills. I like your schedule and I am making notes on how to do that! Love the cottonwood leaves you are sharing your dog bed with – fall is really here!
Yup – we need to fight for the wild places and bite the loonies in the tukus.

Dawg, Sounds like getting older doesn’t completely suck. Can’t wait until me and Pete (my dawg) can enjoy our time. The way you ended your blog made me wonder if this was the end. I hope not. Well, gotta go howl!

Hey Desert Dawg. Sorry, love the hat! Could you ask your favorite Man where he found you? I am looking for such a handsome beasty boy of a Cattle Dawg like yourself. I would consider it an honor if Man shared your roots.
    Thanks! Woof!

Woof Cheryl! Where man found me? I don’t exactly remember. Man has always just been there since the beginning of time, for me that is. He said he saw an ad in the paper, Telluride, Colorado. And he went to look and I picked him and now the rest is, as they say history.

    Hey DD,
So glad to hear y’all are getting out to enjoy the fantastic looking fall weather out there. Those aspen leaves sure look pretty. Wish I could join you on a hike sometime. Would love one of your hats, but I’m not sure how to reach out to your man. Maybe you could do that for me?
    Much appreciated and happy trails!

Great to see your post. Dusty Dog and I are finishing a great loop including Cedar Mesa trails, Burr/Escalante, Paria..then home to Colorado. 40 years of desert hiking for me and Dusty’s second. Dusty is definitely to one to bite the britches of those sons a’ b****s. Um many cattledogs aren’t pets as much as projects.
Do want one of those hats!!

woof Dusty! Silly man wrote about our new hats and then went off and left me while he’s off in some place called Canada? Something about a book? Anyway once he’s gets back I’ll give him a little nip in the heel and he’ll let everyone know where to send the dawg biscuits in return for a hat or two. Cool? Check ya later. Come hiking with us. Keep it wild! DD.

DD – SeaDawg here. You’re lookin good, this chill life is treating you well. Did I tell you that we moved to the desert too??! I gotta say, it’s pretty good livin. So many bunnies. Plus we brought my new sister back from Panama, and life is way more fun with her around. There’s a new tiny human around these days too. She cries a lot but I lick her toes and she comes for all our hikes now, which are getting longer again, now that lady is carrying the baby on the outside.

My lady would love a hat, she says. And a visit when you make your way to the east Utah desert…

    Hi DD,

Doggonesilverbell here. My people just found your site and like reading all your stories and pictures. I think we could be spending that time outside chasing squirrels, but it’s ok, you seem like a cool dawg. Anyways my people spend a lot of time with me outside and I think they’d like a cool looking hat to keep them from getting all lobster like. Let me know when your man gets back and my people can send an address and the green stuff.
